ABOUT DAVID REID
David Reid is an Australian artist who has spent the past 20 years living, working and exhibiting in Asia, China, Europe and Australia over a forty-year career. He is now based in Kuala Lumpur and the Southern Highlands.
He has been making ink paintings on a variety of Chinese paper with black Chinese ink and acrylic artist quality ink from Australia and Germany 1987. More recently, he has also been experimenting with traditional Chinese silk.
For instance, the large commission for BlackRock The Dewy Path was on 12-panel sheets of 90cm x 180 cm silk. His works on Xuan paper and silk (Chinese rice and mulberry paper) are acclaimed in China, Malaysia and Singapore.
He has held exhibitions in Vienna, Dusseldorf, Zurich and Lincoln. His works are extensively collected throughout Australia as well.
